How To: The Raven Guard Chaplain - Part 2

For the Emperor!

Welcome back to the second part of the How-to article. I finished Part 1 with shading the miniature. This time I will try to tackle all the highlighting steps. Recently I've stuck with a 3-step highlight on my miniatures, unless it's a HQ choice or a miniature for a competition. The latter is the rare case nowadays, though. It's hard to find the time to attend Golden Demon and prepare a miniature appropriate for the required level of painting. Thus I stick to a high level of tabletop quality.

How To: The Raven Guard Chaplain - Part 1

Raven Guard Space Marine Chaplain for Warhammer 40k
A glorious Raven Guard Chaplain ready for battle!

Here it is, Part 1 of the promised How to-Article. I teased the Raven Guard Chaplain last week, in one of it's early stages. But before I start out with all the details about how he was painted, I'd like to give a little background.

The mini was supposed to be a birthday present for a friend - he had recently gotten back into the hobby and decided to play Raven Guard. I've always loved the Jump Pack Chappy, so off I went to do some research on the mini.

TGIF and other shenanigans

TGIF or "Thank god it's friday!" is the state of play today.
For some people this will mean hobbying like crazy, for others just realxing from the insanely humid weather across Germany.

I myself will not be painting a whole lot this weekend, since I'm out of town. Doesn't mean I won't be involved with the hobby though. For the probably not so lovely train-ride that I'll enjoy tonight, there's this to accompany me:
Book Cover for Dan Abnett's anthology Sabbat World Crusade

I've been a huge fan of Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts novels, so this little anthology is pretty nice and handy, especially with authors like ADB writing fiction in Dan Abnett's corner of the 40K Universe.
