What is Infinity?

 

For those of you not familiar with what Infinity is, here's a short summary:
Infinity is a tabletop skirmish game in a sci-fi cyberpunk setting. The game draws its look and feel from a wide variety of sources, like William Gibson's Neuromancer, Anime or even Mass Effect. The game itself breaks the mold of the classic "I go, you go" turn sequence. In Infinity it is always your turn.

How to paint Necron Deathmarks III - the Glow Effect

This is it, the final part of the Necron How To, with a special on the glow effect, or as it is also called - the Object Source Lighting (OSL) effect. It can be used in various ways and forms to add some fancy visuals to a miniature. Be it Space Marine eye lenses, glowing Tau rifles, flashing headlights on a tank - there's really no limit. The best part about it, though - it's not that hard to pull off, at all.

Finally, here it is, the promised How to paint Necron Deathmarks. I've teased this article for some time now, especially with this article here. Games Workshop developed some beautiful new models when they relaunched their Necrons, the deathmarks are among them. The cyclopean look, the long rifles and the menacing poses you can create with the kit are great. To top it off, I think Necrons are really easy and a joy to paint. So let's get to part one of this How to.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've been insanely busy with work. You know, the real life stuff that gets in the way of all the hobbying. 

Anyways, the coming weekend will be all about doing hobby stuff and getting those Necron deathmarks painted. I'm itching to get my hands on them again.

Welcome back to the second part of the How-to article. I finished Part 1 with shading the miniature. This time I will try to tackle all the highlighting steps. Recently I've stuck with a 3-step highlight on my miniatures, unless it's a HQ choice or a miniature for a competition. The latter is the rare case nowadays, though. It's hard to find the time to attend Golden Demon and prepare a miniature appropriate for the required level of painting. Thus I stick to a high level of tabletop quality.

Here it is, Part 1 of the promised How to-Article. I teased the Raven Guard Chaplain last week, in one of it's early stages. But before I start out with all the details about how he was painted, I'd like to give a little background. 

The mini was supposed to be a birthday present for a friend - he had recently gotten back into the hobby and decided to play Raven Guard. I've always loved the Jump Pack Chappy, so off I went to do some research on the mini.

It's monday again, let us all rejoice. ... Yeah well, thought, I might give it a try. But since the worst day of the week is almost over, I'd like to celebrate this fact with some picture goodness. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the how-to of the grim and gritty chaplain. But the write up needs a bit more time.
